Installation








SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
(b) Check that the cable is connected to the negative (-) battery terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION: Work must be started at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned off and after the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

(c) Connect the connector to the curtain shield airbag assembly.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Install the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 9 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.





Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

NOTE: Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

2. INSPECT CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly)

3. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY" (Installation).

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization (Repair Instruction - Initialization).

HINT: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light (Diagnosis System).
