Applicability
Introduction
Some 2007 - 2010 model year North American built Camry and Camry HV vehicles may exhibit a knocking noise from the roof structure of the vehicle. This may be caused by a separation of the NVH dampening bonds between the roof sheet metal and the roof reinforcement. Use the following procedure to correct this condition.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.
Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.
Required Tools & Equipment
Repair Procedure
1. Remove the headliner assembly.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
2. Inspect the NVH dampening bonds between the roof sheet metal and roof reinforcement for separation.
If the NVH dampening bonds are NOT separated STOP This TSB does NOT apply. Refer to the Repair Manual for further diagnosis.
3. Clean the mating surfaces of the roof sheet metal and the roof reinforcement using 3M(TM) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner following instructions on the container.
4. Apply the 3MTM Duramix(TM) NVH Dampening Material between the roof sheet metal and the roof reinforcement following instructions on the container.
5. Allow the 3MTM Duramix(TM) NVH Dampening Material to cure as instructed on the container
6. Prior to reassembly test drive the vehicle to verify the repair.
7. Reinstall the headliner assembly.
