Disassembly Procedure





1. Remove the RH front seat assembly. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year Repair Manual.

2. Remove the audio amplifier assembly (if equipped).





A. Remove the 2 clips and audio amplifier cover.





B. Disconnect each connector and remove the bolt.

C. Disengage the clip.





D. Remove the bolt and audio amplifier assembly as shown in the illustration.





3. Remove the front door scuff plate RH by disengaging the 7 claws and 3 clips.

4. Remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly RH.





A. Remove the cowl side trim clip.

B. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly RH.

5. Remove the instrument panel No.2 under cover sub-assembly.





A. Disengage the 4 claws.

B. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No.2 under cover sub-assembly.

6. Remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

A. Remove the bolt in Figure 7.

B. Remove the screw and the 3 screws.

C. Disengage the 3 claws and the 3 clips.

D. Disconnect the connector and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

7. Remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.





A. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.





8. Remove the No.1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish by disengaging the 2 clips.





9. Remove the No.2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish by disengaging the 2 clips.

10. Remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly (for automatic transaxle).





A. Disengage the 6 claws and the 3 clips and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.

B. Disconnect the seat heater switch connectors (if equipped).

11. Remove the upper console panel (for manual transaxle).

A. Open the lid of the upper console panel.





B. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.





C. Using a molding remover disengage the 2 claws and the 5 clips and then remove the upper console panel as shown in the illustration.

12. Remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly (for automatic transaxle)





A. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

B. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.

13. Remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly (for manual transaxle)





A. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

B. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.

14. Remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.





A. Remove the 2 screws.

B. Disengage the 4 claws.

C. Disconnect each connector and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.





15. Remove the console box pocket and carpet.

16. Remove the console box assembly.





A. Remove the 2 screws.

B. Disengage the clamp.





C. Remove the 2 bolts and the console box assembly.

17. Remove the No. 1 console box insert front.





A. Remove the 3 screws.

B. Disengage the clip and remove the No.1 console box insert front.

18. Remove the RH front floor carpet.





A. Remove the 3 floor carpet hooks.





B. Release the clamp.

C. Remove the RH front carpet assembly.





D. Remove the 3 clips and remove the floor carpet bracket RH.





19. Remove the RH floor silencer pad.





20. Release the 4 claws and remove the rear No. 1 air duct.





21. Remove the HVAC unit drain hose.

A. Disconnect the HVAC unit drain hose from the fitting on the HVAC unit.

B. Pull from grommet in the floor and remove.





22. Relocate and fold the No. 1 center console silencer away from the floor pan.





23. Relocate and fold the dash panel insulator assembly away from the floor pan.
