2AZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL
(a) Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.
NOTICE: Keep the lip free from foreign matter.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

NOTICE: Wipe off extra grease from the crankshaft.

2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
(a) TMMK made:




(1) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

(b) TMC made:




(1) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
SST: 09213-54015

(c) Clean the bolt and the bolt hole.
(d) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt end.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND or equivalent





(e) Install the flywheel with the 8 bolts. Uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 130 Nm (1,330 kgf-cm, 96ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Reassembly
4. INSTALL CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Reassembly
5. INSTALL DRIVE PLATE & RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
(a) TMMK made:




(1) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

(b) TMC made:




(1) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.
SST: 09213-54015

(c) Clean the bolt and the bolt hole.
(d) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 end threads of the bolt.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND or equivalent





(e) Install the front spacer, drive plate and rear spacer with the 8 bolts. Using several steps, uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 98 Nm (1,000 kgf-cm, 72ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)
