INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD (for TMMK Made): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY
(a) Engage the 5 claws and install the 5 new No. 3 instrument panel stays.





2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY
(a) Engage the 5 claws.
NOTICE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.

(b) Install the 2 bolts [A] or [M] or [N] and 2 nuts [H].





(c) Engage each clamp.
(d) Install the bolt [L].
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62in-lbf)
(e) Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts [I].
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15ft-lbf)
(f) Connect each connector and install the instrument panel safety pad assembly.





3. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY Installation
4. INSTALL NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH





(a) Connect each connector.
(b) Engage the 4 guides.
(c) Engage the 8 clips and install the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish.
5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Installation
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 2 guides.
(b) Engage the 6 claws and the 2 clips to install the instrument panel No. 1 speaker panel sub-assembly.
7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 REGISTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 4 clips and install the instrument panel No. 1 register assembly.
8. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Installation
9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side Installation.

10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 2 guides.
(b) Engage the 6 claws and the 2 clips to install the instrument panel No. 2 speaker panel sub-assembly.
11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 3 REGISTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 4 clips and install the instrument panel No. 3 register assembly.
12. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Installation
13. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT





(a) Engage the clip.
(b) Install the No. 1 console box insert front with the 3 screws [B].
14. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT





(a) Engage the clip.
(b) Install the No. 2 console box insert front with the 3 screws [B].
15. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the 2 screws [B].





(b) Install the console box assembly with the 2 bolts [F] or [G].
(c) Engage the clamp.
16. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET





(a) Install the console box carpet.
17. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX POCKET
(a) Install the console box pocket.
18. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System) Installation
19. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) Installation
20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 REGISTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 7 clips and install the instrument panel No. 2 register assembly.
21. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect each connector.





(b) Engage the 4 claws.
(c) Install the upper console panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws [B].
22. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 3 claws and 5 clips to install the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.
23. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) with Seat Heater System:
(1) Connect each connector.





(b) Engage the 6 claws and the 3 clips to install the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.
24. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH





(a) Engage the 2 clips and install the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
25. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH





(a) Engage the 2 clips and install the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
26. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
27. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 3 claws and 3 clips.
(b) Install the screw [B] or [C].
(c) Install the 3 screws [B].
(d) Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the bolt [A].
28. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 4 claws and 2 guides and install the instrument panel No. 2 under cover.
29. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Installation
30. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Installation
31. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect each connector.
(b) Install the combination meter assembly with the 4 screws [E].
32. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL





(a) Engage the guide and the 4 claws.
(b) Install the instrument cluster finish panel with the 2 clips.
33. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
(a) Connect the connector.





(b) Engage the 2 claws and 2 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel.
34. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the connector.





(b) Engage the 3 claws and 2 clips to install the No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly.
35. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
36. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
37. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER





(a) Engage the claw [a] and install the upper steering column cover.
(b) Engage the 2 claws [b] and install the lower steering column cover.
(c) Install the steering column cover with the 2 screws [D].
38. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH





(a) Install the air hose and connect each connector.
(b) Engage the claw and the 9 clips.
(c) Instal the instrument panel finish panel LH with the screw [B] and bolt [A].
39. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
40. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation
41. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Installation
42. INSTALL STEERING PAD Installation
43. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation
44. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation
45. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
46. INSPECT STEERING PAD Installation
47. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
