BRAKE: BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET
(a) Install 2 new gaskets and brake stroke simulator cylinder sub-assembly with bracket.
(b) Connect the connector.
2. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
- Do not bend or damage the brake line.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake line from the connecting points.
- Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 250 mm (9.84 in.).
- This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to a torque wrench.
(a) Install the brake master cylinder sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10ft-lbf)
(b) Use the SST to fully tighten the brake line.
SST: 09023-00101
Without SST - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11in-lbf)
Without SST - Torque: 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10in-lbf)
(c) Use the SST to fully tighten the brake line.
SST: 09023-00101
Without SST - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11ft-lbf)
Without SST - Torque: 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR LINE Installation
4. CONNECT NO. 1 RESERVOIR HOSE Installation
5. CONNECT NO. 2 RESERVOIR HOSE Installation
6. INSTALL HEATER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the heater water pump assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87in-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
7. CONNECT MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS Installation
8. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Installation
9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH (for TMC Made) Installation
10. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for TMMK Made) Installation
11. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation
12. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation
13. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Installation
14. INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
15. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Installation
16. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
17. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Installation
18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Installation
19. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation
20. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation
21. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
22. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
23. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
24. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY Installation
25. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
26. ADD BRAKE FLUID TO RESERVOIR Service and Repair
27. BLEED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER Service and Repair
28. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR HOSE Service and Repair
29. BLEED FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM Service and Repair
30. INSTALL ABS MOTOR RELAY
(a) Install the 2 ABS motor relays.
31. CLEAR DTC FOR BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM
HINT: Refer the procedures up to "ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM". Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
32. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE ZERO DOWN Service and Repair
33. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair
34. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
