BRAKE: BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE ABS MOTOR RELAY





(a) In order to prohibit brake control, remove the 2 ABS motor relays with the power switch off.
NOTICE: If the pump motor operates while air remains inside the brake actuator hose, the air will enter the actuator, resulting in difficulty in bleeding the brakes.

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
6. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal
8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal
11. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
12. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
14. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
16. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
17. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for TMC Made) Removal
18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for TMMK Made) Removal
19. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Removal
20. DISCONNECT MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS Removal
21. SEPARATE HEATER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 2 nuts, and separate the heater water pump assembly.
22. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RESERVOIR HOSE Removal
23. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RESERVOIR HOSE Removal
24. REMOVE BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR LINE Removal
25. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, disconnect the brake line.
SST: 09023-00101





(b) Using SST, disconnect the brake line.





(c) Remove the 2 nuts and the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
26. REMOVE BRAKE STROKE SIMULATOR CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET





(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the 2 gaskets and the brake stroke simulator cylinder sub-assembly with bracket.
