PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
HINT:
- There is a slight difference in shape between the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
- Use the same procedures for the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
- The procedures listed below are for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)". Removal

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for Manual Seat)
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)". Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for Power Seat)
HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made)
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL" (for TMC made). Removal

5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made)
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL" (for TMMK made). Removal

6. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) Disassembly
7. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) Disassembly
8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
9. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
10. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
11. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal
14. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal
16. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR LOCK OPENER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Disengage the claw and remove the luggage door lock opener assembly.
17. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 6 clamps and the 2 claws.





(b) Turn back the front floor carpet assembly until the bolts of the cross member No. 4 floor reinforcement sub-assembly can be seen.
18. REMOVE CROSS MEMBER FLOOR NO. 4 REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 8 bolts and the cross member floor No. 4 reinforcement sub-assembly.
19. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.
20. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.
21. REMOVE NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.





(b) Remove the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer as shown in the illustration.
22. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal
23. REMOVE FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER Removal
24. REMOVE FLOOR NO. 2 UNDER COVER Removal
25. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT FLOOR HEAT LOWER INSULATOR





(a) Remove the 3 nuts and the No. 2 front floor heat lower insulator.
26. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
27. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Disassembly
28. REMOVE REAR DISC Disassembly
29. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION NO. 1 SPRING Disassembly
30. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT Disassembly
31. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY Disassembly
32. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET Disassembly
33. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY Disassembly
34. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate.





(b) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the clip from the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
(c) Remove 3 bolts (A), bolt (B), and nut (C), and disengage each claw.





(d) Remove the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the body.





(e) Remove the parking brake cable clamp.
