2AZ-FXE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL
(a) Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.
NOTICE: Keep the lip free from foreign matter.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

NOTICE: Wipe off extra grease from the crankshaft.

2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

(b) Clean the bolt and the bolt hole.
(c) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt end.
Adhesive:
Part No. 08833-00070, Three Bond or equivalent





(d) Install the flywheel with the 8 bolts. Uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 130 Nm (1,330 kgf-cm, 96ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION INPUT DAMPER ASSEMBLY





(a) Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

(b) Clean the bolt hole.





(c) Install new 6 bolts and transmission input damper.
Torque: 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22ft-lbf)
HINT: Take care not to insert the transmission input damper in the wrong direction.

4. INSTALL HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
