ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY
NOTICE: If the auxiliary battery is fully discharged or "READY" does not light up, recharge the auxiliary battery. Check the auxiliary battery again before the vehicle is returned to the customer.

(a) Check the auxiliary battery for damage or deformation.
If there is damage, deformation or leakage, replace the auxiliary battery.
(b) Eliminate any surface charge.
(1) Drive the vehicle and turn the power switch off.
(2) Within 20 seconds after the power switch is turned off, turn the power switch on (IG), and turn on the electrical systems (headlights, blower motor, rear window defogger, etc.).
(c) Turn the power switch off, and turn off the electrical systems.
(d) Wait 20 minutes, and then measure the auxiliary battery voltage.
(1) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





HINT: If the voltage is not as specified, charge the auxiliary battery.

2. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL AND FUSE
(a) Visually check the terminals of the auxiliary battery.
(1) Check that the terminals of the auxiliary battery are not loose or corroded.
(b) Check the fuses.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






If the results are not as specified, replace the fuses.
