INTRODUCTION:

Some 2009 - 2010 model year Corolla vehicles may exhibit a condition where the charging system warning light is "ON", the alternator is inoperative, and/or there is an abnormal noise from the engine compartment. This may be caused by the pulley not being seated correctly. The pulley has been updated to correct this condition.

Use the following procedure to diagnose and repair the alternator.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the original alternator.

2. Install the alternator.

3. Confirm charge light is out and charging system is operating properly.
