U341E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: SHIFT LEVER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH Removal
2. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH Removal
3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
8. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET Removal
10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
11. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

(c) Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.
NOTE: Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

(d) Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180°, and while holding the nut in place, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.
NOTE: Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.

12. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the shift lever assembly.

(b) Separate the 3 wire harness clamps from the shift lever assembly.
