Removal








BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: BRAKE ACTUATOR (w/ VSC): REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
4. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (for 2ZR-FE) Removal
5. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (for 2AZ-FE) Removal
6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE) Removal
7. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (for 2ZR-FE) Removal
8. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately clean it off completely.

9. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and radiator reserve tank sub-assembly.
10. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR Removal
11. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2AZ-FE) Removal
12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the motor connectors.
(b) Separate the washer hoses from the windshield washer jar assembly.





(c) Remove the 2 bolts, clamp and the windshield washer jar assembly from the body.
14. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET





(a) Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.





(b) Remove the bolt.





(c) Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the 6 brake lines from the actuator assembly.





(d) Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.
HINT:
- *1: To front wheel cylinder RH
- *2: To front wheel cylinder LH
- *3: To rear wheel cylinder RH
- *4: To rear wheel cylinder LH
- *5: From 1st of master cylinder
- *6: From 2nd of master cylinder





(e) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and the brake actuator with bracket from the body.

NOTICE:
- Do not damage the brake lines or wire harness.
- Do not carry the brake actuator assembly by the connector.

15. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
