Engine Lubrication: Testing and Inspection








2AZ-FE LUBRICATION: LUBRICATION SYSTEM: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
(a) Warm up and stop the engine, then wait for 5 minutes.
(b) Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the level gauge.
If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.
NOTE: Do not fill with engine oil to above the full level mark.

2. CHECK ENGINE OIL QUALITY
(a) Check the oil for deterioration, water, discoloring or thinning.
If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.
3. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE
(a) Remove the oil pressure switch Removal.





(b) Install the oil pressure gauge.
(c) Warm up the engine.
(d) Check the oil pressure.
Oil Pressure:






(e) If the oil pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump Testing and Inspection.
(f) Remove the oil pressure gauge.
(g) Install the oil pressure switch Installation.
