DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR: ADJUSTMENT
ADJUSTMENT
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the Standard Bolt Chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.
1. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)
2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE JACK CARRIER ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE JACK ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH Removal
6. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH Removal
7. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER Removal
8. ADJUST BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Before adjusting the upper end of the back door up and down or left and right, loosen the bolts.
(b) Tighten the body side hinge after the adjustment.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
(c) Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.
(d) Tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.
Torque: 23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft-lbf)
