INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION Lower Instrument Panel
2. TURN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
6. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal
13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag) Removal
14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag) Removal
15. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

16. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

17. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag) Removal
18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
19. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal
20. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal
21. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal
22. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal
23. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY Removal
24. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
25. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY Removal
26. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
27. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/o Navigation System) Removal
28. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System) Removal
29. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) Removal
30. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
31. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX





(a) Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front upper console box.
32. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE





(a) Disengage the 6 claws.
(b) Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 2 switch hole base.
33. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
34. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Removal
35. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal
36. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT





(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide to remove the front No. 1 console box insert.
37. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT





(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide to remove the front No. 2 console box insert.
38. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)





(a) Remove the 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 6 claws and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
39. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle)





(a) Remove the screw [B] and 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 6 claws and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
40. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE





(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.
41. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 screws [B].





(b) Disengage the 3 claws and 2 guides.
(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
42. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
43. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH Removal
44. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)





(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.
45. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

46. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

47. DISCONNECT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

48. DISCONNECT SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
for U341F: Removal
for U250E: Removal
for U140E: Removal
49. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal
50. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal
51. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
52. REMOVE RADIO WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
53. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 2 claws and DLC3.





(b) Disengage the 3 claws and the hood lock control cable assembly.
(c) Disengage each clamp.
(d) Remove the 3 screws [E].





(e) Remove the screw [B].
(f) Remove the 11 bolts [C].
(g) Remove the 2 bolts [D].
(h) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
