SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.





(c) Aligning the pin of the rear airbag sensor to the body hole, install the rear airbag sensor with the nut.
Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
- If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
- Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.
- Tighten the nut while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.

(d) Connect the connector to the rear airbag sensor.
NOTE: When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(e) Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the rear airbag sensor.

9. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
10. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Installation
11. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK INNER HINGE COVER (for LH Side) Installation
12. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK OUTER HINGE COVER (for LH Side) Installation
13. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
14. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Installation
15. CONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

16. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
18. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
