DOOR / HATCH: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY

DISASSEMBLY

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the snap ring.
(b) Remove the front door window regulator handle assembly and front door regulator inside handle plate.
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws, and remove the front door inside handle bezel.
4. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST UPPER BASE PANEL (w/o Power Window)

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip and 7 claws and remove the front armrest upper base panel.
5. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST UPPER BASE PANEL (w/ Power Window)

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip and 7 claws.
(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the front armrest upper base panel.
6. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side with Power Window)

(a) Remove the 3 screws and the power window regulator master switch assembly.
7. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side with Power Window)

(a) Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch assembly.
8. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side with Power Window)

(a) Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the door control switch assembly.
9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 screws.

(b) Using a clip remover, disengage the 10 clips.
(c) Disengage the 5 claws and separate the front door trim board sub-assembly from the front door inner glass weatherstrip.

(d) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable, and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH (w/o Front No. 2 Speaker)

(a) Disengage the clip and clamp, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH (w/ Front No. 2 Speaker)

(a) Disengage the clip and clamp, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front No. 2 Speaker) Removal
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door panel.
15. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (w/o Power Door Lock)

(a) Remove the front door service hole cover.
HINT: Remove any remaining butyl tape from the door.

17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER (w/ Power Door Lock)

(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the front door service hole cover.
HINT: Remove any remaining butyl tape from the door.

18. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH COVER

(a) Disengage the clip.
(b) Disconnect the connector.

(c) Remove the 3 screws.
(d) Disengage the claw and remove the outer rear view mirror assembly with cover.
19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)
(a) Install the front door window regulator handle assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
(b) Remove the front door window regulator handle assembly.

(d) Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Do not damage the door glass.

20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)
(a) Connect the negative battery terminal.
(b) Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
(c) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and power window regulator master switch assembly.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.
NOTE: After the bolts are removed, do not allow the door glass to fall.

(e) Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Do not damage the door glass.

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Window)

(a) Remove the 5 bolts and the front door window regulator assembly.
22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Loosen the temporary bolt.
NOTE: Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall and cause damage.

(c) Remove the 5 bolts.
(d) Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly and the front power window regulator motor assembly as a unit.
(e) Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly.
23. REMOVE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Window)

(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T25), remove the 3 screws and the front power window regulator motor assembly.
24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN

(a) Remove the front door glass run.
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (for Driver Side)

(a) Remove the hole plug.
(b) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.
HINT: The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

(c) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.
27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (for Front Passenger Side)
(a) w/o Power Door Lock:
HINT: Use the same procedure for the front passenger side and the driver side.

(b) w/ Power Door Lock:

(1) Remove the hole plug.
(2) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.
HINT: The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the front door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.
29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad.
30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad.
31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Door Lock)

(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.
(b) Slide the front door lock assembly downward, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.
32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Door Lock)

(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.
(b) Slide the front door lock assembly downward, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.
(c) Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock assembly.
33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Door Lock)

(a) Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.
34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Door Lock)

(a) Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.
35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Door Lock)

(a) Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.
36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Door Lock)

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.
37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the screw.
(b) Using pliers, disengage the grommet as shown in the illustration.
(c) Disengage the claw and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.
38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD

(a) Remove the front door lock open rod as shown in the illustration.
39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and the front door check assembly.
40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Using a clip remover, disengage the 15 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.
41. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH

(a) Disengage the claw and remove the door frame garnish.
HINT: This clip needs to be replaced with a new one because the clip will break when removing the door frame garnish.

42. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 STIFFENER CUSHION

(a) Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides.
(b) Remove the double-sided tape and the front door No. 2 stiffener cushion.
43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY
44. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE (w/ Black Out Tape)
