Installation








SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.





(c) Aligning the pin of the side airbag sensor to the body hole, install the side airbag sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
- If the side airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the side airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
- Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.
- Tighten the bolt while holding the side airbag sensor because the side airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.

(d) Connect the connector to the side airbag sensor.
NOTE: When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(e) Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the side airbag sensor.

3. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side) Installation
4. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for Driver Side) Installation
5. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side) Installation
6. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for Front Passenger Side) Installation
7. CONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP Installation
8. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
9. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP Installation
10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
