REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX Removal
6. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE Removal
7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
8. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
11. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL Removal
12. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE Removal
15. REMOVE BATTERY Removal
16. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER Removal
17. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal
18. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.
19. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Move the shift lever to N.
(b) Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.
(c) Pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.
NOTE: Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.
(d) Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.
NOTE: Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.
(e) Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.
(f) Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.
(g) Disconnect the control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.
(h) Remove the nut and separate the transmission control cable support.
(i) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the transmission control cable assembly.
(j) Pull out the transmission control cable assembly.
