E351 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: MANUAL TRANSAXLE SYSTEM: PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
Use the table below to help determine the cause of problem symptoms. If multiple suspected areas are listed, the potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.
HINT: If possible, perform a road test as part of diagnosis. Note any unusual behavior, and conditions that cause the problem to occur. Based on the power flow and configuration of the gears in the transaxle, determine what parts require special attention if inspection and disassembly is necessary.
Manual Transaxle System
*1: If the clutch torsional damper springs are worn, they can produce a load-related noise similar to a bad bearing or gear rattle.
