BRAKE: REAR DRUM BRAKE: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Aligning the matchmarks, install the rear brake drum.
2. ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE





(a) Temporarily install 2 hub nuts.
(b) Remove the hole plug, and turn the adjuster to expand the shoe until the drum locks.
(c) Rotate the adjuster by 8 notches.
(d) Install the hole plug.
(e) Remove the 2 hub nuts.
3. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
4. BLEED AIR FROM FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEMS Service and Repair
5. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
6. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
(a) Adjust the brake fluid level to the MAX line with the power switch on (IG).
NOTE: The brake fluid level must always be adjusted to the MAX line.

7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
8. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL Adjustments
9. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL Adjustments
10. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC
(a) Check and clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
