Applicability

Introduction

Some 2009-2010 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit a wind noise from the LH or RH front door. Perform the following procedure to improve this condition. This may be due to an improperly sealed front door weatherstrip.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Confirm complaint condition.





2. Remove the bolt to disconnect the door check from the body structure.

NOTICE

Use caution not to overextend the door while the door check is disconnected or damage may occur.





3. Using a clip remover disengage the 20 clips and the double-sided tape and remove the front door weatherstrip.

4. Install new front door weatherstrip.

A. Remove release liners from 2 pieces of double sided tape





B. Engage the 20 clips and set the 2 pieces of double sided tape and install the front door weatherstrip.





5. Reinstall the bolt to reconnect the door check to the body structure.

Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft*lbf)

6. Test drive vehicle to confirm that wind noise level is improved.
