U760F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
NOTICE: Before installing the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

(a) Pass the control cable from the cabin to the engine compartment.





(b) Install the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer with the 2 bolts.

Test in Illustration





Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44in-lbf)
(c) Connect the transmission control cable to the No. 2 transmission control cable bracket.
(d) Before attaching the cable to the transmission, make sure to pull the cable through the dash grommet into the engine compartment side until the cable crimp is fully seated against the dash grommet.





(e) Connect the transmission control cable to the control shaft lever with the nut.
Torque: 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9ft-lbf)
(f) Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

8. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION Adjustments
9. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION Adjustments
