U660F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
NOTICE: If automatic transmission parts are replaced, refer to Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary Service Precautions.

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
HINT: See the steps from "Recover Refrigerant From Refrigeration System" through "Remove Engine Assembly with Transaxle" Removal.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET LH Removal
3. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET RH
HINT: Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

4. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR
5. REMOVE STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY Removal
6. DISCONNECT FRONT CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY Removal
9. REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH Removal
10. REMOVE TCM Removal
11. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.
(b) Separate the park/neutral position switch connector and 7 wire harness clamps.
12. REMOVE FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and flexible hose bracket sub-assembly from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH.
(b) Remove the breather hose from the flexible hose bracket sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 11 bolts and transaxle.
NOTICE: To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle and engine.

14. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY Removal
15. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the torque converter clutch assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
16. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.
17. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 clamp brackets.
18. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 transmission control cable bracket from the automatic transaxle assembly.
19. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE (ATM) COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly.
20. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE





(a) Remove the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose.
21. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE





(a) Remove the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose.
