Applicability

Introduction

Some 2009 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit a condition where the defroster nozzle garnish is lifting on the left side. Perform the following procedure to improve this condition.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure





1. Verify the complaint condition.

2. Remove the defroster nozzle garnish.





A. Release the 4 clips and 6 claws by lifting on the rear edge of the defroster nozzle garnish.





B. Disengage the 6 guides by pulling the defroster nozzle garnish toward the rear of the vehicle.





C. Disconnect the connector and remove the defroster nozzle garnish.

3. Apply felt to the LH rear claw.

A. Cut a piece of felt from the Interior Noise Kit (P/N 08231-00801) to the following dimensions.

Felt: 15 x 15 x 1.5 mm thick (0.6 x 0.6 x 0.06 in. thick)





B. Apply felt to the LH rear claw on the defroster nozzle garnish.

4. Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly.

5. Confirm improved fit and appearance of garnish.
