Removal








U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
NOTICE: If automatic transmission parts have been replaced, refer to Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary Service Precautions.

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
HINT: See the steps from "Recover Refrigerant from Refrigeration System" through "Remove Engine Assembly with Transaxle" Removal.

2. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE TCM Removal
5. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS





(a) Remove the bolt and ground cable.
(b) Separate the park/neutral position switch connector and 6 wire harness clamps.
6. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 9 bolts and transaxle.
NOTICE: To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle and engine.

7. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the breather plug hose from the flexible hose bracket sub-assembly.
(b) Remove the bolt and flexible hose bracket sub-assembly from the transaxle.
(c) Remove the breather hose from the flexible hose bracket sub-assembly.
9. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.
10. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET





(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 clamp brackets.
11. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 transmission control cable bracket from the automatic transaxle assembly.
12. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the transmission case plug assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the transmission case plug assembly.
13. REMOVE OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE





(a) Remove the outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose.
14. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE





(a) Remove the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose.
