EXTERIOR: REAR BUMPER (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH





(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and the rear bumper side seal.
2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER





(a) Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.





(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts.





(d) From the inside of the rear fender, push the edge of the rear bumper towards the front of the vehicle and, using a screwdriver wrapped in protective tape, disengage the bottom claw. At the same time, pull the side of the bumper outward.





(e) Slowly pull the side of the bumper outward and disengage the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th claws from the side of the bumper, starting at the bottom and moving upward.
(f) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper cover.
(g) Disconnect the license plate light connector.
4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH





(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear bumper side retainer.
5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT





(a) Remove the 4 nuts and the rear bumper reinforcement.
7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and the rear bumper arm.
8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
