EXTERIOR: REAR BUMPER (for Sedan): REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH





(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and the rear bumper side seal.
2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER





(a) Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.





(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and the 2 screws.





(d) Insert a screwdriver into portion A shown in the illustration, then lift the rear bumper cover up using it and disengage the 2 claws.
(e) Disengage the 16 claws and remove the rear bumper cover.
4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH





(a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
(b) Remove the screw.
(c) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the rear bumper side retainer.
5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

6. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH





(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear bumper side support.
7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.





8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER SHIELD BRACKET
HINT: Use the same procedure to remove all the rear bumper center shield brackets.

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper center shield bracket.
9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT





(a) Remove the 4 nuts and rear bumper reinforcement.
10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and the rear bumper arm.
11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
