INTRODUCTION:

Some customers may experience water on the front or rear carpets of the vehicle due to the HVAC evaporator drain becoming blocked by debris. An improved cowl panel has been made available to help prevent debris from entering the HVAC unit. Follow the procedures listed in this bulletin to remove and replace the cowl panel.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Verify HVAC evaporator drain hose is blocked with debris.
2. Remove debris from HVAC unit, blower motor housing and the HVAC evaporator drain hose.
3. Clean and dry HVAC unit, blower motor housing, evaporator drain hose, carpet and floor board area that may have been wet due to the blocked HVAC drain.
4. Remove the cowl panel. Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

5. Remove any debris from underneath the cowl panel.
6. Install the NEW cowl panel. Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

7. Operate air conditioning system and verify proper water drainage from HVAC drain.
