BRAKE CONTROL: BRAKE ACTUATOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Sedan)

(a) Install the actuator bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube. New actuators are filled with brake fluid.
- Do not carry with the connector part of an actuator.

2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback)

(a) Install the actuator bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube. New actuators are filled with brake fluid.
- Do not carry with the connector part of an actuator.

3. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR (for Sedan)

(a) Install the brake actuator with bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
NOTE: Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

(b) Connect a new brake tube clamp.

(c) Temporarily install each brake tube in the correct positions of the brake actuator as shown in the illustration.

(d) Using a union nut wrench, install the 6 brake tubes onto the brake actuator.
without union nut wrench - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
with union nut wrench - Torque: 14 Nm (144 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
HINT:
- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)
Service Precautions.
- This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.

(e) Using a union nut wrench, install the 2 brake tubes onto the brake master cylinder.
without union nut wrench - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
with union nut wrench - Torque: 14 Nm (144 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

(f) Using a union nut wrench, install the 2 brake tubes onto the brake tube No. 1 way.
without union nut wrench - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
with union nut wrench - Torque: 14 Nm (144 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
HINT:
