SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback 3 Door): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.
NOTE: Always use "Torx" socket wrench E10 when installing the rear seat.
HINT: The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY





(a) Check the angle of inclination required to lock the retractor.
(1) Gently incline the retractor from its initial position. Check that the belt does not lock when the retractor is inclined 15° or less in any direction. Also, check that the belt locks when the inclination of the retractor is 45° or more.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(b) Hook the lower stay of the retractor onto the 2 body hooks and provisionally install the retractor with the 2 bolts.
(c) Tighten bolt A and then bolt B.
Torque: 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in-lbf) for bolt A
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf) for bolt B





(d) Install the through anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)
(e) Check that the ELR locks.
NOTE: Perform the check with the front seat outer belt installed
(1) With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If the operation is not as specified, replace the front seat outer belt.





(f) Install the anchor plate with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)





(g) Install the anchor plate cover.





(h) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(1) Connect the pretensioner connector.
(2) Lock the locking button.
NOTE: Securely lock the locking button.

2. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP





(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
3. INSTALL FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY





(a) Engage the 8 clips, the retainer and the 10 claws and install the front quarter trim panel.
4. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the belt.
5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP





(a) Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.
6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY (for 60/40 Split Seat Type)
(a) for RH Side:
(1) Install the rear seat assembly Installation.
(b) for LH Side:
(1) Install the rear seat assembly Installation.
8. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR SEAT LEG COVER (for 60/40 Split Seat Type LH Side) Installation
9. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR SEAT LEG COVER (for 60/40 Split Seat Type)
(a) for RH Side:
(1) Install the No. 1 rear seat leg cover Removal.
(b) for LH Side:
(1) Install the No. 1 rear seat leg cover Installation.
10. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (for Hold Down Seat Type) Installation
11. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Hold Down Seat Type) Installation
12. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX
(a) for RH side:
(1) Install the deck floor box Installation.
(b) for LH Side:
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

13. INSTALL DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
14. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY Installation
15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
