- Speaker Circuit
DESCRIPTION
If there is a short in this circuit, the radio receiver assembly assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.
Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the radio receiver assembly or speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the connectors from the radio receiver assembly and the speakers.
(b) for 6 Speakers:
Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speaker assemblies and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(c) for 6 Speakers:
Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the front No. 2 speaker assemblies to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(d) for 4 Speakers:
Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(e) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speaker assemblies and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(f) Measure the resistance between each speaker and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:

(b) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
Result:
C -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
B -- INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the malfunction disappears when a known good speaker is installed Removal.
OK:
Malfunction disappears.
HINT
* Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.
* If there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
* Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.
NG -- INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
OK -- END (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)
4. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance between the terminals of the speaker.
Standard Resistance:
