POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1521, C1531-C1534, C1554: Motor Circuit Malfunction
C1554 - Power Supply Relay Failure

DESCRIPTION

If the power steering ECU detects any of these DTCs, it will shut off the motor relay circuit (built into the power steering ECU) and stop power assist. However, power assist continues if DTC C1533 or C1534 is output.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the steering column or power steering ECU is replaced, perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs.

OK:

DTC is not output.

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU Removal

OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
