DESCRIPTION
This circuit sends the voice signal from the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) to the radio receiver assembly.
It also supplies power from the radio receiver assembly to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
After replacing the radio receiver assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, XM radio ID registration is necessary (w/ SDARS System).
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the map light assembly*1 or telephone microphone assembly*2 and radio receiver assembly connectors.
*1: w/ Sliding Roof
*2: w/o Sliding Roof
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
w/o Sliding Roof
w/ Sliding Roof
(c) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
Result:
B -- REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY Removal
C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
A -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
(b) Reconnect the map light assembly connector.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
(d) Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 11 (MIC+) and 10 (MIC-) of the map light assembly connector.
(e) Check the waveform of the map light assembly using an oscilloscope.
