U140F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

1. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID Removal

2. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE BEARING RETAINER OIL SEAL

(a) Remove the front drive shaft LH Removal.

(b) Remove the differential side bearing retainer oil seal.





(1) Using SST, tap out the oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010

3. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE BEARING RETAINER OIL SEAL

(a) Install a new differential side bearing retainer oil seal.





(1) Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.

(2) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

Standard depth:

-0.5 to 0.2 mm (-0.0197 to 0.00787 in.)

(b) Install the front drive shaft LH Installation.

4. REMOVE TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL

(a) Remove the transfer assembly Removal.

(b) Remove the transaxle housing oil seal.





(1) Using a screwdriver with vinyl tape wound around its tip, remove the oil seal.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the housing.

5. INSTALL TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL

(a) Install a new transaxle housing oil seal.





(1) Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.

(2) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

SST : 09649-17010

Standard depth:

5.5 to 6.5 mm (0.217 to 0.256 in.)

(b) Install the transfer assembly Installation.

6. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

7. INSPECT TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL Procedures
