Removal

2ZR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: REMOVAL

1. INSTALL ENGINE STAND

(a) Install the engine to an engine stand.

2. REMOVE ENGINE HANGER

3. REMOVE FAN BELT ADJUSTING BAR

(a) Remove the bolt and fan belt adjusting bar.

4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the wire harness clamp bracket.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air tube.

(c) Disconnect the ventilation hose from the intake manifold.

(d) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





(e) Disconnect the wire harness clamps from the intake manifold stay.





(f) Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts, and remove the intake manifold and intake manifold stay.

(g) Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

5. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 ignition coils.

9. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and oil level dipstick.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the oil level dipstick.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.





11. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and 2 drive shaft heat insulator sub-assemblies.





(b) Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.





12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold and gasket.





13. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE

(a) Remove the ventilation hose.

14. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water inlet housing.





15. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.





16. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Remove the clamp and water by-pass hose.

17. REMOVE INLET WATER HOSE

(a) Remove the 2 clamps and inlet water hose.





18. REMOVE INLET WATER Removal

19. REMOVE THERMOSTAT Removal

20. REMOVE RADIO SETTING CONDENSER

(a) Remove the bolt and radio setting condenser.
