BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: REAR SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD): REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
* If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with rear speed sensor.
* The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with rear speed sensor. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with rear speed sensor.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Removal

3. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Removal

4. DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)

(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.





5. DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)

(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.





6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Removal

7. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Removal

8. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Replacement

9. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension) Replacement

10. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Removal

11. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension) Removal

12. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH REAR SPEED SENSOR (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension)

(a) Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with rear speed sensor Removal.

13. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH REAR SPEED SENSOR (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension)

(a) Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with rear speed sensor Removal.
