C59 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

3. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL Service and Repair

4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

Removal

5. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010





6. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010





7. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

SST : 09710-26011

Standard depth:

9.6 to 10.2 mm (0.378 to 0.402 in.)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the oil seal lip.

8. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

SST : 09636-20010

Standard depth:

1.4 to 2.0 mm (0.0551 to 0.0787 in.)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the oil seal lip.

9. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

10. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL Service and Repair

11. INSPECT MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL Testing and Inspection

12. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

13. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
