Muffler, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment





^ V.A.G. 1331 Torque wrench (5...50 Nm)

Removing
^ Remove intake manifold upper part.
^ Disconnect pressure hose from combi-valve.
^ Remove connecting pipe between combi-valve and exhaust manifold.
^ Disconnect connection for oxygen sensor and free wiring
^ Remove warm air collection plate.
^ Disconnect front exhaust pipe at front muffler.
^ Unbolt exhaust manifold from cylinder head and remove upward.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:
^ Replace seals/gaskets and self-locking nuts
^ Erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory
