Crankshaft seal -flywheel end-, replacing
Special tools and equipment





^ 2086 Extractor hook
^ VAG 1331 Torque wrench (5...50 Nm)
^ VAG 1332 Torque wrench (40...200 Nm)
^ T10122 Assembly device

Removing
^ Remove flywheel/drive plate.





^ Remove seal using extractor hook 2086.

Note: Ensure the sealing surface is not damaged when prying out seal.

Installing
^ Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth.





^ Install assembly sleeves T10122/1 and T10122/2 together. Slide oil seal -A- until stop onto assembly sleeve T10122/2.

Note: Do not remove support ring out of seal until immediately before installation.

^ Separate both assembly sleeves.





^ Install assembly sleeve T101 22/2 together with oil seal on crankshaft flange.
^ Press in oil seal using assembly sleeve T10122/3 until stop.
The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the disassembling sequence.
