Ribbed Belt - 8-cyl. Engine, Removing And Installing

Removing

CAUTION: Before removing ribbed belt, mark direction of rotation. Belt damage will result if not reinstalled in proper direction.

- Bring front end assembly (lock carrier) into service position [1][2]Procedures





- Fit 30 mm wrench at hex surface -1- and rotate tensioner in direction of -arrow- until ribbed belt loosens.
- Remove ribbed belt.

Installing
- Fit ribbed belt over all pulleys except coolant pump pulley.

Ribbed belt routing. Refer to Ribbed belt, routing diagrams





- Fit 30 mm wrench at hex surface -1- and rotate tensioner in direction of -arrow-
- Route ribbed belt onto coolant pump pulley

CAUTION:
- After installing ribbed belt, check for proper seating and alignment in all pulleys.
- Start engine and check belt running.
