LATCH System "Lower Anchors And Tethers For Children", Installing And Retrofitting (Sedan)
The LATCH system for "Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children" consists of the combination of rear upper tethers and rear lower anchors used to secure a child restraint.
NOTE: Installing rear lower anchor bracket for child seat LATCH
1 - Rear top tether bracket
Installing:
- Remove rear shelf -8- and knock out holes at marked locations
- Install threaded plate to inside of rear compartment with rivets -6-
- Install rear shelf into vehicle
- Install bracket -1- or plug -5-
2 - Cover
3 - Bolt
- 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
4 - Sleeve
5 - Plug
6 - Rivet
7 - Threaded plate
8 - Rear shelf
A tether anchor is used to connect the child restraint rear top tether strap to the vehicle. A tether is a straight or V-shaped strap that attaches the top part of a child restraint to special anchorage points in the vehicle.
