Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

Removing EVAP canister





Remove:
- connector/outlet, press in catch and pull
- connector/inlet, press in catch and pull
- outlet hose from EVAP canister bracket.

Removing EVAP canister shut-off valve air hose clamp:
- squeeze clamp with a pipe wrench. Hold in place
- pry apart with a small screwdriver.
- air hose from EVAP canister shut-off valve
- rubber mounting with EVAP canister shut-off valve from EVAP canister bracket
- two front and rear screws.

Remove:
- nut on bracket at fuel filter.





Remove:
- EVAP canister with bracket
- Slacken off screw in underside of bracket (Torx 25).
- EVAP canister from bracket.


Installing EVAP canister
- In reverse order of removal.

Tighten screws to 25 Nm (18.5 ft.lb) and nut to 20 Nm (14.8 ft.lb).

Ensure that the EVAP canister:
- engages in the catch at the front
- engages in its groove the bracket.


Note! Use a new screw clip. Check that outlet/inlet connector catches engage.
