Checking GPS Reception
Checking GPS reception
Checking the component
Check that connector G is correctly connected.
Check the cable between the RTI (road traffic information) control module terminal #G1 and the GPS antenna terminal #G1. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for an open-circuit. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the cable between the RTI (road traffic information) control module terminal #G2 and the GPS antenna terminal #G2.
Remedy as necessary.

Replacing the component
Try replacing the GPS antenna.
Leave the car outside for at least 15 minutes with the road traffic information (RTI) system switched on.
This is so that the current location can be received.
Check how many satellites the RTI (road traffic information) system locates by going into the system settings. See the instruction book.

- To access and replace the GPS antenna, see Antenna, GPS, replacing Service and Repair.
Does the RTI (road traffic information) system locate any satellites?
Yes - Fault Found
No - No Fault Found
