The following trouble-shooting ONLY applies to cars with trailer contact.

Is the test relevant?

Yes - Checking the relay

No - No Fault Found

Checking the relay
Check relay 2/83 operation by activating and deactivating the relay several times. The relay is working if a clicking noise is heard when activating and deactivating.
If the relay is not working, replace it with a new relay.

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the wires and components

Check that the fuse 11D/2 is intact.
Check the wire between relay 2/83 3 and trailer contact for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the wire between trailer contact and ground point for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Do the necessary corrective action.
