Spoiler, trunk lid.

Warning! PUR adhesive can cause asthma like symptoms. Isocyanate vapor from uncured primer or adhesive can cause allergies in the respiratory tract.Ensure that ventilation is good and use a fresh air mask.

Warning! Never touch the adhesive surface with your fingers. Wear protective gloves.

Note! Ensure that the trunk lid and spoiler are kept at a temperature of at least +16°C (61° F).

Caution! Use isopropanol, P/N 1161721, immediately to remove any primer spillage and adhesive from the trunk lid or spoiler.

Note! Ensure that the trunk lid and spoiler are kept at a temperature of at least +16°C (61° F).

- Clean the trunk lid and the surrounding surfaces if dirty.

Note! If the paint surface is waxed it must be cleaned using cleaner H, P/N 1161436 after washing.

- Clean the adhesive surface of the trunk lid and spoiler. Use cleaner 116 1653 in the relevant area. Wipe dry.

Note! Use water based ink, a whiteboard pen for example, which can easily be removed.

- Align the spoiler on the trunk lid. Draw around the outer contours of the spoiler using a marker pen (1).

Note! The adhesive surface must be completely dry before applying primer.

- Apply primer P/N 1161652 in the marked area. M1 = 10 mm (25/64") from the outer edge of the spoiler.

- Apply primer P/N 1161652 to the adhesive surface of the spoiler. Ensure that the primer enters the two adhesive grooves.

Note! Use a cotton bud with primer to further penetrate the adhesive grooves.

- Allow the primer to dry for 10 minutes.

- Cut the adhesive nozzle as follows:
- M3 = 8 mm (5/16")
- M4 = 18.5 mm (47/64")
- M5 = 9 mm (23/64")

Caution! To ensure that the adhesive is properly mixed, apply a 10cm (25/64 ") adhesive bead to a piece of paper.

Note! Do not leave any adhesive in the area M2. There is a risk of spillage. M2 = 20 mm (25/32").

- Apply adhesive to the adhesive surface of the spoiler.

Caution! Ensure that the spoiler lies securely with the adhesive surface facing up. Alternatively two people are required for this operation. Apply adhesive quickly to produce two even beads. The application of too much adhesive causes overflow and the adhesive becomes visible.

- Apply adhesive using P/N 1161394 or 1161395.

Note! The spoiler must be secured to the trunk lid within 2 minutes of applying the adhesive. The adhesive cures quickly.

Hint: First bend the edges of the tape's protective film upwards and then forwards to facilitate its removal when the spoiler is secured to the trunk lid.

- Open the trunk lid 50-100 mm (2"- 4").
- Place a block or similar in the opening to keep the trunk lid open slightly.
- Take hold of the spoiler using both hands and align the spoiler with the trunk lid as illustrated. Center the spoiler on the trunk lid. Press into position.

- Remove the backing from the tape.

Note! Hold the end of the spoiler with one hand to keep the spoiler in position. If the protective film of the tape "sticks" when being pulled off, the front edge of the spoiler can be raised slightly to facilitate pulling off the protective film.

- Tape the ends of the spoiler (2) against the trunk lid.

- Remove the tape and block.
- Close the trunk lid.

Note! The vehicle is ready to use after one hour.

Note! Do not wash the vehicle within seventy two hours.
