Noise From AUX-Input
Noise from AUX-input
Fault-tracing information
If the AUX-input is selected as source, there may be a clicking or scraping sound. This may occur when there is at least 50% audio power and no media player is connected or between two sound tracks.
The sound quality and volume from the media player connected to the AUX input depends on both the set volume in the media player and in the Integrated Audio Module (IAM). Follow the instructions below to set the volume for optimum performance during playback via the AUX input:
Select CD or radio as source in the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) and set the volume to the desired level.
Reduce the volume of the media player to 0, connect it to the AUX input and select AUX as source in the Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
Set the volume on the media player so that it corresponds with the previous volume of the CD or radio as source in the Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
If a satisfactory result is not obtained, the AUX input volume can be adjusted via the menu in the Infotainment control module (ICM).
Note! The following applies to vehicles with chassis numbers up to the following numbers: S40 (04-) 275355, V50 289847 and C70 (06-) 015377.
A shielded signal cable runs from the AUX-input to Integrated Audio Module (IAM).
Change to twisted cable.
