Dashboard Replacement
Special Tools Required
- KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014*

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body, or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Driver's outer dashboard trim Driver's Outer Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Side pockets, both sides Dashboard Side Pocket Removal/Installation
- Dashboard side vents, both sides Dashboard Side Vent Removal/Installation
- Side defogger vent trim, both sides Side Defogger Vent Trim Removal/Installation
- Speaker cover Dashboard Speaker Cover Removal/Installation
- Glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Glove Box Damper Replacement
- Gauge control module Service and Repair
- Audio unit:
- With premium audio system Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With Premium Audio System)
- With ELS audio system Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With AcuraLink)
- Audio/navigation switch panel, with ELS audio system Audio-Navigation Switch Panel Removal/Installation (With Navigation)
- Audio-HVAC display Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
- Sunlight sensor Service and Repair
- In-car temperature sensor Service and Repair
- Front center speaker, with ELS audio system Speaker Test/Replacement

Driver's side
3. Detach the harness clips (A, B) from the dashboard.
Middle area
4. Detach the dashboard wire harness clip (A) and the harness clips (B) from the center pocket frame (C).
5. Remove the bolts (A) and the screws (B), then remove the center pocket frame (C) from the dashboard.
6. Detach the audio wire harness clips (A) from the dashboard center stay, and detach the antenna sublead clip (B) from the center frame.
Passenger's side
7. Disconnect the antenna sublead connector (A).
8. Detach the audio wire harness clips (A), the dashboard wire harness connector clip (B), and the audio wire harness connector clip (C) from the dashboard.
9. Remove the screw, then remove passenger's dashboard duct B.
10. Pull the audio wire harness (A) out from the audio-HVAC display opening.
11. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connector (A), and detach the dashboard wire harness clips (B). Remove the passenger's airbag mounting bolts.
12. Remove the bolts securing the dashboard (A).
13. Lift up on the dashboard to release it from the guide pins (B) and the center pin (C) on the dashboard from the grommet (D).
14. While holding the dashboard (A) away from the body, detach the antenna sublead clip (B) from the passenger's side bracket (C).
15. Carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.
NOTE: Do not rest the dashboard on its lower center cover opening, or it may be damaged. Lay it on its front or back.
16. Remove the screws, then remove the front defogger duct (A) and both front dashboard stays (B) from the dashboard (C).
17. Remove the screws, then remove the dashboard duct (A) from the dashboard (B).
18. Remove the screws, then remove passenger's dashboard duct A from the dashboard (B).
19. Remove the screws, then remove the dashboard center stay (A) from the dashboard (B).
20. Remove the passenger's airbag. Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
21. Assemble the dashboard and the steering hanger beam in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Replace the passenger's airbag mounting bolts with new ones.
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness, the audio wire harness, and the antenna sublead are routed properly and not pinched.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the harness clips and the connector clips into place securely.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
- If necessary, adjust the shift cable. Adjustments
