Power Brake Booster Pump Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

3. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.

4. Remove the right front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .





5. Release the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe clip (1) from the power brake booster pump bracket.

6. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe quick connect (2) from the power brake booster pump.

7. Position the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe aside.

8. Disconnect the power brake booster pump electrical connector.





9. Remove the power brake booster pump nuts (1) and bolts (2).

10. Remove the power brake booster pump.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power brake booster pump.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the power brake booster pump nuts (1) and bolts (2) and tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Connect the power brake booster pump electrical connector.





4. Install the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe clip (1) to the power brake booster pump bracket.

5. Connect the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe quick connect (2) from the power brake booster pump.

6. Install the right front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .

7. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.
